I finished Month 1 of Insanity Max 30 yesterday! It has truly been a challenge for me, but I have loved it! I have another month to go with Insanity and then I will be starting the 21 day fix. We are going on a mini vacation in July and I want to be bikini ready! My body has been though a lot so far in 2015. Here are some pictures to document the changes and the progress I am making:
2/3/15-This photo ^^was taken 10 days before I had my daughter. She weighed 8lbs 13oz at birth-big girl! I was so miserable toward the end of my pregnancy and I remember thinking I would never feel or look normal again!
2/16/15-This photo ^^ was taken 3 days after I had my daughter. This is basically what I was left to work with after the baby and all the fluids, etc had come out!
4/18/15-These photos ^^ were taken yesterday after I finished Month 1 of Insanity Max 30 (at 9 weeks postpartum). I have been replacing 1 meal per day with Shakeology since my daughter was born in addition to my workouts.
I definitely see progress in the photos, but I have not weighed myself yet because I don’t want to focus too much on a number. I think I will weigh myself after I complete Insanity so that I have a starting point for the 21 day fix. I still have a ways to go to get back to where I was (I had abs before lol) but I am going to keep working. I’m so thankful I have been able to get such great results so far at home and I feel like the sky is the limit to where I can go!!!

Today was one of those days I just didn’t want to work out. Baby girl has been very fussy since she got 3 shots yesterday and wants to be held 24/7. Sometimes it feels very overwhelming being a new mom, especially a working mom. I work outside the home two days per week, but I have work to get done when I am at home the other days too and sometimes it feels impossible. Today it was impossible to get through my workout because Mila kept pitching a fit every few minutes.
Poor baby girl 😦 So, today was frustrating and I felt like I failed at my workout. But tomorrow will be a new day and I will try again. I can only try to do my best each day.
Max Out Cardio acts as a fit test throughout Insanity Max 30. Today, I maxed out at 10:18, which is my best time yet! I think Cardio Challenge is my favorite workout. I have always loved cardio and this workout has a ton of different moves and circuits so I don’t get bored like I used to with running or the elliptical.
This is my last week of month 1 of the program. I can’t wait to see how crazy the workouts get in month 2! I’m just so motivated to live a healthy life for my daughter and be my best self for her! Here she is this past Monday, when she turned 2 months old 🙂
My goodness I love her!
I started Insanity Max 30 on a Wednesday because it made more sense for me than a Monday, so my “Friday Fight” workout always falls on a Sunday. Then, Mondays and Tuesdays are my “off” days from working out because I work outside the home those days and when I get home I just want to cuddle my baby! This is my sweet baby girl, Mila! She was a good girl and sat in her swing during my workout today, but during the cool down she wasn’t having it and wanted her mama!
I think today was the hardest I have pushed myself yet in my workout. I was dead by the end. Friday Fight is actually my favorite workout, I love all the punching and kicking! I think I might like to try a kickboxing workout after I finish Insanity and do the 21 Day Fix! At first, I thought I would just try to lose the baby weight, but now I really want to be healthier and more fit than I was before. Although I was skinny before, I wasn’t especially healthy. I ate too little and drank too much. Between being pregnant and breast feeding, I haven’t drank alcohol (except some Guinness to increase my milk supply) in about a year. That is amazing for me because I had been drinking quite a bit since I was about 20 (I’m almost 28 now). I just feel so much healthier than I used to, even though I am not as small. I think I will get back there, but even if I don’t my health is more important now! Anyways, I’m just sitting here drinking my Shakeology and blogging. Patrick and I are about to take Mila to the little farmer’s market our neighborhood has the first Sunday of every month. We just bought a blender so I am going to try some of the recipes that come with Shakeology tomorrow! Up until now, I had just been putting it in my shaker cup with almond milk, which is delicious too b when you mix it up with some ice and other things it’s almost like a milkshake! Mmmmmm! Patrick mixed his up this morning with strawberries and blueberries (he gets Vanilla Shakeology, I’m not sure if I would like that with my chocolate!) and he loved it! It also makes a ton more when blended, it almost filled 2 shaker cups! By the way, if anyone is looking for a good shaker cup for protein shakes, etc the Blender Bottle is amazing! It comes with a little blender ball that goes inside it and my shakes are never clumpy! I got it off amazon.com for about 10 bucks!
Anyways, I probably wont be posting tomorrow or Tuesday because I am so busy all day at work and like to just spend time with my family when I get home 🙂
I love the weekends because my hubby is home to help me with the baby! Mila is a very good baby, but taking care of a newborn is a demanding job! Today was Sweat Intervals day and it was a very tough workout! I maxed out at 10:18, which is my best time yet! I’m having to modify less and less, which is amazing!
I’ve also eaten some pretty delicious and healthy food today. I have been craving peanut butter, so I had an oatmeal raisin English muffin with some organic peanut butter for breakfast. Mmmmmmmm. I really need to try almond butter because I have heard that it’s better for you than peanut butter. If anyone can recommend a favorite almond butter please let me know!
I had a “superfood salad” for lunch. It has kale, edamame, blueberries, almonds, tomatoes and cranberries. I use a red wine vinegar for dressing because it has a little tang to it which I love, but doesn’t have any calories! Mmmmmmmm again 🙂
I plan to have a Shakeology for dinner. I will be on the road showing homes at dinner time (I am a Realtor) so it will be the perfect thing for me to take with me. In another 2 weeks it will be time to take my measurements and post some before and after pictures because I will be done with my first month of Insanity Max 30. I can already tell I am making progress so I am very excited! Then it will be on to month 2!
I’m exactly 8 weeks postpartum today and have been doing Insanity Max 30 since 6 weeks postpartum. I had a C-section so I had to wait the full 6 weeks before I could do any intense exercise, which was rough for me! I have been drinking a Shakeology a day since I was pregnant though and I feel like that has been helping me get all the vital nutrients I need for breastfeeding as well as helping me lose the baby weight.
Insanity Max 30 is difficult and I have to modify some, but I get through it each day and I can tell it is making a difference. Although I only have about 5 lbs to lose to be back at pre baby weight, I have a lot of toning up to do, especially on my stomach. My stomach was always flat and tight and I would like to get it back that way asap lol. My goal is to be comfortable in a bikini again this summer.
Today, Mila actually let me get in the whole workout without having to stop to tend to her lol. It was my first day of Tabata Strength and it was rough but I made it!
